Information message about the strong earthquake on the east coast of Kamchatka on November 14, 2018

A strong earthquake with M = 6.0 occurred on November 14, 2018 at 21:21 GMT (November 15, at 00:21 Moscow time) on the east coast of Kamchatka.

Parameters of the earthquake have been determined in the Alert Service (AS) of Information Processing Center (IPC) of Geophysical Survey of RAS in Obninsk with station data obtained from digital and analog seismic stations of Russia, countries of CIS and from abroad. Alert message on this earthquake has been delivered in 6 min after registration to the Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation (EMERCOM).

Preliminary processing has been done with data from 16 stations, accurate processing - with data from 56.

The red marker on the map indicates the epicenter of the earthquake, the focus of which was on the eastern coast of Kamchatka, at a depth of 70 km, 77 km SW of Ust-Kamchatsk, 108 km E-SE of Klyuchi and 359 km NE of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
