Fig. 2 presents fragments of records obtained from digital stations Arti (∆ 21.3º), Nalchik (∆ 22.2º), Khabaz (∆ 22.7º), Belogornoye (∆ 22.7º), Kislovodsk (∆ 22.9º).

The focal mechanism solution in stereographic projection on the lower hemisphere and its elements are presented in the table below. It was obtained in USGS NEIC with W-phase Moment Tensor (Mww) technique and in Lamont-Dohert Earth Observatory, Columbia University, USA (LDEO GCMT) with СМТ (Centroid moment tensor) technique. Solutions for different centers are close. The earthquake occurred under the prevailing action of compression stresses oriented to the north. One nodal plane NP1 strikes E-SE (STK=110-121º), another plane NP2 strikes W-SW (STK=233-247º). NP1 plane is more flat (DP=38-40º) in comparison with NP2 (DP=65º).The type of motion along NP1 – right latteral slipг with reverse fault components, for NP2 – reverse fault with left latteral slip components. According to USGS NEIC – Mo=2.796*10**18 N*m, Mw=6.2, according to LDEO GCMT – Mo=3.97*10**18 N*m, Mw=6.3.
