Information message about a felt earthquake in the Kemerovo Region on August 12, 2021

A felt earthquake (moderate at the epicenter on the SHSI-17 scale) with M = 5 occurred on August 12, 2021 at 20:41 GMT (23:41 Moscow time) in the Kemerovo Region.

Parameters of the earthquake have been determined in the Alert Service (AS) of Information Processing Center (IPC) of Geophysical Survey of RAS in Obninsk with station data obtained from digital and analog seismic stations of Russia, countries of CIS and from abroad. Alert message on this earthquake has been delivered in 3 min after registration to the Ministry of Emergency of the Russian Federation (EMERCOM).



The red marker on the map shows the epicenter of the earthquake, the origin of which was located in the Prokopyevsky district of the Kemerovo Region at a depth of 15 km, 52 km N-NE of Prokopyevsk, 66 km N of Novokuznetsk, 146 km S of Kemerovo.
